DESCRIPTION: The pinnulets of each frond become rolled and swollen due to the activity of a particular gall midge. Within each gall is found a yellowish larva. Starting greenish the galls turn to brown and eventually become black hence the english name of 'Little Black Puddings'. DISTRIBUTION: Uncommon but most probably under-recorded. HABITAT: On Bracken fronds.
